The University of Virginia's Human Resources Department, supporting 30,000 professionals across its academic institutions, research centers, and medical center, was undergoing a significant transformation. After changing its operating model, implementing a new HRIS, and restructuring its leadership, UVA HR recognized the need to shift its organizational culture to reach its full potential. With a team of 250, they sought Envoy’s expertise to define their identity, clarify expectations, and create a shared sense of purpose to drive success within the organization.

Today, UVA HR is a unified, high-performing team, aligned both internally and with the broader UVA community. Envoy guided them through defining their purpose, vision, values, and leadership principles, and helped design impactful experiences to embed these foundations throughout the organization. To ensure lasting change, we also developed a culture operations strategy and playbook. This work led to a 21% increase in eNPS, a key success metric, and positioned UVA HR for even greater success moving forward.
